With the 2020 netball season fast approaching, the Scone & District Netball Association is turning its attention towards fundraising efforts.
Travelling for representative netball can be costly, and the club is keen to do its bit to alleviate the pressure on local families.
A fundraising evening will be held at Scone McDonald's on Monday December 2, with McDonald's to kindly donate 15 per cent of all sale proceeds from 5.30pm to 7.30pm to Scone netball's representative teams.
Money raised will get Scone's under 12s, 13s and 14s to the 2020 Netball NSW Junior State Titles from July 6 to 8 and their under 15s and Opens to the Senior State Titles from June 5 to 7.
Scone McDonald's restaurant manager Christy Troy said the fundraiser includes all aspects of the restaurant - drive-thru, dine-in and McCafe.
"Supporting our sporting groups is really important for the business and for the local community," she said.
"Especially during the drought - impending and looming times are tough for sporting groups to raise funds to go and do great things like what they're going to do with the representative netball.
"We love to be part of the community and to support local events where we can."
Scone netball representative coordinator Mel Atkinson said it's a huge cost to get all the representative teams to state titles.
"Not only will the money help but it's good to get all the teams together for team bonding," she said.
"Some of the teams are only newly formed as we've just gone through our selection process so it's great to get all the teams and families together and have dinner."
"We rely on fundraising, this is the start of a series of fundraising activities to get to state titles and there will be other fundraising activities into the new year."
