AFTER many weeks of patiently waiting, Murrurundi residents can now beat the heat at the local pool.
The 2019/20 season opening was delayed due to troubles with getting water to the pool for filling, flushing and cleaning with a broken pipe valve only adding to council's woes.
Added dirt and dust in the air also meant more backwash cycles were required to get the pool operable and meet the required health standards.
More than 40 people attended the Murrurundi pool opening on the weekend but Reagan, Cooper and Madison Taylor had it all to themselves by late Sunday afternoon (with a lifeguard and their mum, Amy, watching the fun).
"We'll be here most days," said Amy.
Discounted season passes can be bought at Murrurundi pool and also used at Merriwa and Scone.
