Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen today announced that a total of eight new courses would be available at the Scone CLC in semester one 2020.
He said the NSW government was ensuring that TAFE NSW responds to the community's evolving needs.
"The NSW Government are ensuring it is possible to equip students with the skills they need to get a job, in industries with increasing demand in our region," Mr Johnsen said.
"It is critical our local job-seekers have access to high quality education and training if we are to develop the next generation of industry leaders."
Mr Johnsen said these TAFE NSW courses will equip the industry with the skilled workers it needs and prepare students for the workforce so they are "job-ready" once they graduate, saving employers considerable time in training.
TAFE NSW Regional General Manager Susie George said a highlight of the new courses was the Diploma in Community Services.
According to the Australian Government Job Outlook, Health Care and Social Assistance is Australia's largest and fastest growing industry, employing over 1.5 million people.
"Because of increased demand in the region, this course is will be delivered in Scone by TAFE NSW, for the first time," Ms George said.
"Add to this a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, a number of short courses and a range of online courses available through TAFE Digital, it is evident that TAFE NSW is reaffirming itself as the number one training provider for the region."
