While the reprieve from the hot and dry conditions is appreciated, it's important to remember to remain 'Water Wise' and adhere to the Level 1 Water Restrictions in Scone, Aberdeen, Merriwa and Cassilis, and Level 6 Water Restrictions in Murrurundi.
Water carting continues in Murrurundi and will likely continue until the Scone to Murrurundi Pipeline is completed. Glenbawn Dam remains at 39% as of 11 January.
A report will be put to the 24 February Council meeting to consider whether higher restrictions may be required for the Shire, based on the long-term outlook, with similar proposals being considered by Singleton and Muswellbrook Shire this month.
For more information about water restrictions, including how the levels are determined across the Shire, and what they mean for you, visit Council's webpage: http://upperhunter.nsw.gov.au/our-shire/water-restrictions.aspx And visit the "Blue House" for fun hints and tips about how to save water around your home: http://upperhunter.nsw.gov.au/our-services/water-and-sewage/blue-house.aspx
Footpath works on Graeme Street, Aberdeen will resume next week. Work on the footpath commenced just prior to Christmas, but was delayed due to unexpected staffing shortages.
The footpath will be constructed of concrete and will greatly improve the amenity of the street. Once resumed, works are expected to be completed within the fortnight.
Council's work schedule for construction and maintenance of roads, bridges water, sewer, airport and saleyards across the whole Shire is updated weekly, and is available on our website: http://upperhunter.nsw.gov.au/our-services/roads-bridges.aspx
