Due to the recent rain, the Wednesday tournament was cancelled and no carts have been permitted on the course.
Consequently, there have been a few tired golfers as they walked 18 holes in heavy conditions, some not having done so for a considerable time.
Other players were accommodated for by conducting a nine-hole event on each of the competition days.
The ladies event was kindly-sponsored by Jodie Hinde and a good field enjoyed the day with a Mad Hatters theme.
The winner of the 18-hole stableford was Lyn Banks, who had a good round in the conditions with 34 points.
Balls went to Lyn Banks 34, Julie Leckie 33, Kathy Robinson 29 and Annie Woods 27 points.
The nine-hole winner was Cheryl Clydsdale on 16 points and the ball winner was Dordie Bragg on 15 points.
On Saturday, August 1, the day started off with a frost but then was ideal for golf.
David Druce had a fine round of 70 nett to be the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug winner.
The course was still very heavy and the winners shot good scores in the conditions.
The grade prizes went to Jeff Harrington in A grade with 37 points and Neil Clydsdale had 37 points also to allow him to win C grade.
Tony O'Neill on 36 points won B grade.
Balls went to: David Druce 38, Jeff Harrington, Neil Clydsdale 37, Tony O'Neill 36, Warren Styles 35, Paul McLoughlin, Brad Baker 34, Steve Morse, Ross Banks 33, Matt Hobbs, Gordon Halliday, Brad Hockley, Julie Leckie 32, Lindsay Hodge, Mick Alsleben and Justin Smart on 31 points.
The nine-hole competition was won by Tony Pringle with 18 points and the runner-up was Jim Elder on 15.
On Thursday, August 6, the ladies will play an 18-hole stroke/stableford for the 4th Monthly Medal sponsored by Melanies Jewellers.
It is also the fourth round of the Golf NSW Medal.
Entries are being called for the first ladies championship event of the year, the foursomes, to be played on August 13.
Following this are the ladies championships conducted in three divisions on August 20, 23 and 27.
Players will need to arrange a partner for Saturday, August 8, as the event is an 18-hole Irish Foursomes sponsored by Gordon Halliday and Phil McGuirk.
In an interesting game, both players tee off at each hole, they then swap balls and play a second shot with their partner's ball.
The players then decide which is the best positioned ball and the other ball is picked up.
The players then play ambrose from the position of the best ball until the hole is completed.
The Wednesday competition is back on this week with play anytime, however bookings must still be made by phoning Ross Banks on 0488 591 237.
In a busy schedule, the men's Foursomes Championship will be played on Sunday, August 16, and entries are being called for.
Round three of the Kevans Knockout is nearing completion and the Snyman Fourball Knockout is about to begin.
