The free event was put on by Beyond Church in Scone, who received funding from the government's Drought Resilience Fund last year to host a local event to 'promote connection and wellbeing'.

Beyond Church Scone co-leader Rebecca Murray said they were thrilled with how the event went, and thanked the whole community for getting behind it.

"For a community that has been ravaged by drought, not to mention the more recent difficulties of COVID-19 and the current rodent plague, this event was so timely," she said.

"Many people shared with the event organisers just how much it meant to them that they were able to come out, interact and celebrate after such a difficult few seasons.

"We want to thank everyone for turning out - it was great!"

The park came to life with hundreds of people enjoying free fairy floss, a sausage sizzle, inflatable attractions, face painting and mini-putt putt golf.

Beyond Church runs regular church services on Sunday at the Senior Citizens Centre in Scone at 3pm.
