In Muswellbrook Shire, Denman Road was reported as closed in both directions between the Golden Highway and Bengalla Road due to flooding by NSW Incident Alerts at 7:05am.
In Singleton Shire, the Golden Highway was reported as closed at 6:37am at Whittingham between the New England due to flooding and drivers are advised to use Hermitage Road and Broke road as an alternative route and to exercise caution.
Meanwhile Upper Hunter Shire Council reported several roads as being closed due to high volumes of rain, including Cresfield Road at Dry Creek, the Middlebrook causeways at Scone, Glenbawn Road at Pages Crossing and Wallington Road in Parkville.
Hunter Valley Police District said the following roads were also closed due to heavy rainfall overnight:
- Edderton Road at Muswellbrook
- outside Pukara Estate, Denman Road, Muswellbrook
- Golden Highway at Whittingham outside Godolphin Horse Stud
- New England Hwy and New Freugh lane, Whittingham
- West of the rail line, Mitchell line, New England Hwy, Whittingham
- Range Road x Golden Highway
- outside Coolmore Horse Stud, Jerrys Plains
- The Causeway at Ekerts Road and Thompsons Road, Pokolbin
- New England Hwy cross of White Falls lane, Singleton
- Bridgman Road and Blaxland Road, Singleton
- Kelso st and Edward st, Singleton
Sporting Fields Closed:
Muswellbrook Shire Council also announced all sporting fields in Muswellbrook Shire will be closed over the weekend, with the decision to be reviewed on Monday, November 15.
Upper Hunter Shire Council said all fields, ovals and reserves in Murrurundi, Scone and Aberdeen will be closed today with a further announcement to be made by the council ahead of sports fixtures set for the weekend.
