Pre-poll voting began from Monday, November 22 and will be open until Friday, December 3.
Pre-poll voting centres are now open across the Upper Hunter for the Muswellbrook, Upper Hunter and Singleton local government areas (LGAs).
Muswellbrook LGA Pre-Poll Voting Centres
In the Muswellbrook LGA, two pre-poll voting centres are now open in both Denman and Muswellbrook on Mondays through to Saturdays between 9am and 5pm until Friday, December 3.
The pre-poll voting centre in Denman is located at Denman Memorial Hall at 30 Ogilvie Street while the Muswellbrook pre-poll centre is located at the Stan Thiess Memorial Centre at Victoria Park, Hill Street Muswellbrook.
Upper Hunter LGA Pre-Poll Voting Centres
For residents of the Upper Hunter Shire, the Scone pre-poll voting centre is now open at the Upper Hunter Shire Council Administration Centre at 135 Liverpool St, Scone.
Two more pre-poll centres in Murrurundi and Merriwa will open in the Upper Hunter LGA from Monday, November 29.
The pre-poll centre in Merriwa will be located at the Upper Hunter Shire Council Offices at 42 Vennacher Street.
In Murrurundi, a pre-poll centre will be opened at the Upper Hunter Shire Council Offices at 47 Mayne Street
The opening hours of all pre-poll centres in the Upper Hunter Shire will be from The Scone pre-poll centre is open from 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday until Friday, December 3.
Singleton LGA Pre-Poll Voting Centres
A pre-poll voting centre is available for residents of Singleton LGA at the Singleton Youth Venue Auditorium located at 9 Bathurst Street.
Residents of the Upper Hunter and Singleton LGAs are also permitted to use the pre-poll centre at the Stan Thiess Memorial Hall in Muswellbrook.
iVote System
Applications to use the NSW Electoral Commission's iVote system also opened from Monday.
The iVote system allows for digital voting for people who are are blind or have low vision, are unable to vote without assistance, are a silent elector or people who have difficulty voting at a polling place because of a disability or have difficulties reading.
The applications for postal voting opened on Tuesday, October 26 and will remain open until 5pm on Monday, November 29.
Candidate Electoral Material
Electoral material registered with the NSW Electoral Commission is now on display at the Commission's website.
The registration period for electoral material to be distributed on election day closes at 5pm on Friday, November 26.
The NSW Electoral Commission said in approving electoral material, "the Electoral Commissioner does not consider the truth or otherwise of statements and content seeking to influence electors in deciding how they should vote".
"The provisions in the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021 are devised to ensure, amongst other things, the identity of those responsible for electoral material is revealed to voters and that electoral material does not mislead or deceive voters in the casting of their vote," the NSW Electoral Commission said.
