Sydney gets major new event

In a major event for Sydney’s art and tech scene, the world-renowned festival South by Southwest is coming to Sydney.

Previously only held in Austin, Texas, the festival has been running since 1987, bringing together the biggest names of music, film, gaming and tech every year.

It includes session on Music, tech startups a Film Festival and more.

Minister for Tourism and Sport Stuart Ayres said Sydney is the perfect city in which to expand the festival, saying it will be “the biggest event to come to Australia since Vivid … The very best of the creative and tech industries in the Asia Pacific will be on display during SXSW Sydney.”
