Tiffany Forrester of Tasmania, could not believe the news when she was told she won Explore’s Russian river cruise competition worth $22,990.

“I was so excited – I did not know whether to scream or jump for joy,” Ms Forrester told Explore.

The 23-year-old who works as a waitress and barista at JJ’s Bakery in Longford, a suburb close to Launceston, said: “My mum entered the competition first and then she told me to enter it – never in a million years, did I think I would win the competition. Now, I will take my mum with me on the Russian cruise – how cool is that?”

When she told her work colleagues that she won the competition, they all said: ”No way!!”

She has not had the time to even tell her mum yet.

Ms Forrester has never cruised before and she can’t wait to learn about all things Russian when she and her mum board the deluxe Viking Akun to experience Viking’s 13-day Waterways of the Tsar cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg departing the capital on 15 September 2022.

Ms Forrester knows it will the best holiday she will share with her mum.

She has travelled to the US once and the rest of her holidays have been spent visiting Melbourne and Queensland.
