Beekeeping technology company HiveKeepers has developed an innovative method to harvest honey, the Micro Honey Harvester, a compact, easy-to-use system specifically designed for backyard and hobbyist beekeepers.
Developed over five years of research and testing, the Micro Honey Harvester removes many of the traditional challenges of honey extraction, making it cleaner, faster, and more accessible.

"Harvesting honey has always been a time-consuming and messy job. We've changed that", said Simon Mildren, CEO of HiveKeepers. "Our goal is to make beekeeping easier so that more people can experience the pleasure of harvesting fresh honey straight from their hives."
Traditional honey extraction can be labour-intensive, often requiring extensive, expensive equipment. The Micro Honey Harvester developers say their product simplifies things, allowing beekeepers to harvest honey next to their hive while checking on their bees, and no complicated setup or messy cleanup is required.
"This is about making honey harvesting as enjoyable as beekeeping itself", Mr Mildren said. "It's an easy and rewarding way for people to collect fresh honey without the hassle."
"The Micro Honey Harvester is more than just a product; it's a movement towards sustainable beekeeping and a transparent supply chain. I see a future whereby we bridge the gap between the hive and the consumer and deliver the purest honey experience to a consumer without them needing to have. a beehive."

The Micro Honey Harvester aligns with a continuing commitment to sustainability and community building within the beekeeping industry.
Why the Micro Honey Harvester matters:
- Instant honey extraction - Less than 5 minutes from hive to jar with no possibility of honey fraud.
- No completely closed system keeps wax and debris free of bee injury.
- Bee-friendly design - Minimal disruption to any beehives
- Compact & portable - The size of a small coffee machine, easy to transport
The Micro Honey Harvester is 100% Australian designed and made. Developed in collaboration with industrial designers and experienced beekeepers, it supports smaller, more frequent harvests - giving beekeepers more time to focus on hive health and bee care.
HiveKeepers believes this innovation will have a global impact, reshaping how hobbyists engage with honey production while supporting sustainable beekeeping practices worldwide.
"This is just the beginning," says Mr Mildren. "Our vision is a future where harvesting honey is as easy and accessible as making coffee from a pod, no mess, no stress, no waste."
