The Bulls, chasing back-to-back premierships, will now face minor premiers Scone Brumbies in the grand final at Newcastle No. 2. Sportsground at 10.15am.
In a quality see-sawing match, the Bulls finally clinched the match with a converted try in the 67th minute.
Centre Daniel Malloy ran in the try, and it was converted by stand-in kicker, fullback Daniel Bates, to break a 29-all deadlock.
Nelson Bay got off to a flier with two tries in the first 10 minutes to lead 12-0.
But Singleton fought back and tries to Campbell Harris, Bates and Nathan Vaughan, and a conversion by Harris gave them a 17-15 lead at the break.
Hamish Fuller scored a try for the Bulls just a minute after the break, and scored a second just six minutes later, to give the Bulls a 29-15 lead.
However, soon after the Gropers ran in back-to-back converted tries to level the scores, before the Bulls finally prevailed.
The Singleton U-18s unfortunately bowed out of the finals race with a 17-7 loss to Wanderers in the preliminary final.
In a tough, physical battle, the team never gave up and put in right to the end, in an effort they should all be proud of.
