Freeman fled into the bush after two police officers were shot dead, and a third officer was injured on August 26.

Detective Leading Senior Constable Neal Thompson, 59, from Bendigo and Senior Constable Vadim De Waart, 35, from Melbourne, were identified as the victims.
They had been executing a sex offence-related search warrant when the sovereign citizen allegedly opened fire.
He had been staying inside a bus at a Reyner Track property, and hasn't been seen since running into bushland while armed with multiple guns.
Police said the focus of their recent intensive search of 0.886 square kilometres of thick bush and heavy terrain and caves was to find the wanted man's body.
A search of the same area on September 12 was focused on finding an "active armed offender" and evidence.

"Detectives from Taskforce Summit, supported by specialist resources, have this last week undertaken a targeted search of the Mount Buffalo National Park as part of the ongoing search for wanted fugitive Desmond Freeman," a spokesman said.
"The extensive search involved a number of units from across Victoria Police including local members from Eastern Region, Search and Rescue, Critical Incident Response Team, Drone Unit and the Dog Squad as well as two New South Wales Police Force cadaver dogs.

"Police have spent five days systematically searching 0.886 square kilometres in thick bush and heavy terrain, conducting line searches and clearing caves.
"No trace of Freeman has been located at this time."
Police have examined 1950 pieces of intelligence, including from the public.

A $1 million reward for information leading to Freeman's arrest remains in place.
Assistant Commissioner Martin O'Brien on Friday, December 5, said the force remained committed to locating Freeman, also known as Desmond Filby.
"The devastating loss of Neal and Vadim has struck at the heart of Victoria Police and had an enormous impact on the Porepunkah community," he said.
"I want to reaffirm to the community that Victoria Police remains committed to doing everything we can - using every available resource and the necessary capabilities - to locate Desmond Freeman.
"We will continue to conduct targeted searches such as this one based on intelligence.
"We will maintain a presence in the community, and we are determined we will see this to resolution.
"Once again, I would strongly urge anyone with any information at all to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers."
