Special guest Athol Rose was in attendance with his family.
Recollections of his golfing experiences at home and abroad from the 1940s on, and his involvement with Scone Golf Club over the decades, including as past president and Club Champion, were presented on Athol’s behalf.
Some highlights of the men’s presentations included that to fifth time Club Champion Nathan Waters.
Will Barnett was presented with a framed photo and document celebrating his achievements in the All Schools event, with a copy also for display in the club.
Sadly for Scone, both young men and their families will be off to new ventures in 2015.
The Scone golf community wish all of them future success in golf and in life.
One of the most prestigious events, The Kevans Knockout, was won by Wayne Hedley.
He was the grateful recipient of John Kevans prize, an event John has sponsored since 1973.
Amongst the ladies presentations, Lyn Banks received the Club Championship award for the fourth time.
Judy Carmody received multiple awards for the championships being the recipient of the Jean Byrnes Salver, overall nett winner, the Doris Ham Veterans’ nett winner, and Division 2 Runner Up.
She also had best nett during the year to take the Ruth Stanford Trophy.
Many members were sincerely thanked for their voluntary contributions to maintaining the golf course, their work in the club and with junior golf.
The Club Person of the Year award, which is given to a non-board member, was unable to be split so it was deservedly given to Gordon Halliday and Phil McGuirk for their huge efforts during 2014.
Emcee Glen Tarrant ensured the evening moved smoothly, and was effective and entertaining in his role!
The polished cups looked splendid and the tables were nicely decorated by the ladies for the evening.
Those present enjoyed an excellent meal and an entertaining slideshow highlighting the golfing year.
