President Tim Stanley said there would be an inaugural fundraiser on Sunday for the Tamworth Ronald McDonald House.
“It’s the first time that we’ve done it; we figured we’d do something good for someone else,” he said.
“So please come wearing your red and yellow.”
The fundraising effort will add to the rodeo’s usual list of events, which include bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, rope and tie, team roping, ladies barrel race, breakaway roping, and steer undecorating.
Stanley said he expected another exciting contest between a quality field of riders.
“There have been a good number of entries this year, and a few riders will be there fresh from the national finals at Tamworth last weekend,” he said.
“We’ve also got some of the best stock and contractors coming so it’s shaping up as another great rodeo.”
Admission prices on Saturday will be $15 for adults, $8 for children aged five-16, and kids under five are free.
There will be no charge for entry on Sunday.
A bar and live entertainment will be provided until late in the evening, while there is also free camping available.
The rodeo will once again be held at the Cassilis Showground.
