A WEEKEND of carnage has finally snapped the Simpson family's patience.
Fences were cut, fires lit, stock released, and a Honda CR-V was driven into the dam at Boat Harbour, Lake Glenbawn, over the Easter period.
Pam Simpson said her family had battled with ongoing vandalism and trespassing on their private property for some time but were fed up.
“There have been little problems on and off with people cutting fences, however, this weekend just cruelled it for us,” she said.
“A car was driven through our paddock and we found it about 20 metres from the edge in the dam.
“My first thought was ‘I hope there isn’t someone in there’.
“One good thing is that they didn’t take it into the paddock and torch it because that could have started a massive bushfire.”
Ms Simpson said she had also spent the morning chasing cattle which had escaped after the fences were cut.
She said the stray animals could have led to a serious accident.
“Some hoons fly around here and if a cow gets out, like they have been today, someone could easily get killed if they hit them [at high speed],” she said.
Police have been notified and are currently investigating the incidents.
