Deemed a highlight on the locals’ social calendar, the event not only boasted an excellent day of racing action but a CWA cafe, bar facilities, Fashions on the Field, a calcutta on the 2016 Cup and, of course, the traditional bookies.
For the punter, a five-card program whetted the appetite while the carnival atmosphere appealed to racegoers young and old.
The Merriwa Race Club was quick to acknowledge the kind sponsorship and support from Morgans Stockbroking, Caltex, Godolphin, Landmark Merriwa, Magic Millions, Merriwa Petroleum and Ag Supplies, and Widden Stud, who all made valuable contributions towards the annual meeting.
