Two of the club’s senior sides will face Greta-Branxton and Muswellbrook respectively on Sunday at Olympic Park.
Here is the draw for the Group 21 deciders:
10am: Women’s league tag – Scone v Greta Branxton
11.20am: Under-18s – Singleton v Muswellbrook
12.50pm: Reserve grade – Singleton v Aberdeen
2.30pm: First grade – Muswellbrook v Scone.
This is how the Thoroughbreds’ grand final squads shape up:
Women’s league tag:
1. Hayley Eveleigh
Fullback. Now with some weight behind her, ‘Evo’ is one fiercest fender. Making some try saving tags.
2. Zoe Harper
Left wing. New to the sport, she is a natural. Zo has lightning speed - when given the opportunity she burns the side line.
3. Brooke Noble
Left Centre. Nobes is one solid defender, deceivingly quick and always there to back up.
4. Charmaine Bloomfield
Left 2nd. Can kick a goal from the sideline. Miss Golden slipper is also famously known for selling a good deco, sometimes confusing her own team mates.
5. Abbey Van Balen
Lock. Who would have thought she broke her finger at the start of the season. Abs is a core defender, a great talker and has a beautiful soft pass.
6. Claudia Winter
Hooker. Not one to stand down from a fight she has her team mates backs. Can read the play well and always working hard.
7. Sarah Thomas
Right Half. Also suffered a broken finger she is one determined cookie. A solid talker and after three years concurred her white line fever.
8. Maddy Adams
Right 2nd. When given the perfect ball she is away. Mads is a hard worker and never gives up.
9. Liz Lally
Right centre. The team cheerleader. The first in for a cuddle. Lally has really stepped up her defensive game.
10. Ally Luck
Right Wing. With her special zig zag running, Luck makes the metres the team needs. Pushes her limits and others around her.
11. Lisa East
Her first season and what an asset. Can put her anywhere and she picks it up. Has great vision and offloads.
12. Sal Gordon
Although a little Gumby and doesn't mind a show and go, to no one. She is one key player who gives it her all with a strong structural mind.
13. Loren Heath
For her first season she has fitted right in. Going from multiple positions Loz has a great pass on her and can kick the team out of a rut when needed.
14. Flynn Haggarty
The youngest in the team, she has definite potential. She has such a calm nature and recently became familiar the hooker role. Flynny is a real talent.
15. Kaylie Edwards
Kaylz in her 2nd year with the club. Positioning herself in the right spot, she has scored more tries than Thommo.
16. Nicky Schliffke
Although ending her career early in the season, Schliffke's 'get it done' attitude is missed within the team.
First grade:
1. Hayden Topliss
Hitting form at the right time of the year. Very elusive ball runner who can turn opportunities into points
2. Lachlan Walmsley
Having played with the Newcastle Knights SG Ball side in 2016 and achieving the highest point scorer award, could cap off a remarkable season by winning a first grade premiership at 18.
3. Justin Apthorpe
Very strong with a good understanding of the game, will provide plenty of headaches in attack and defence.
4. Josh Adams
Continues the famous name for the Thoroughbreds. With a very high work rate and ability to beat defenders, “Freddy” will be a leading contender for MOM.
5. Tim Smith
Real speedy customer light on his feet and an impeccable try scoring record at Olympic Park. Watch him striding down right touch line to increase his tally.
6. Josh Watson
Has great vision for the game and a very underrated kicking game, the quiet achiever will be in for huge game.
7. Gary McKeon
Has had a great season and is an integral part of the Thoroughbreds. Big game player who will want another premiership to his record.
8. Wes Suckley
Very powerful runner who will be the leading the forwards from the front. Expect a captain’s performance from the rampaging bull.
9.Jarrod Wicks
The linchpin in the side, very clever out of dummy half and will be seen around the ankles of the other team all day.
10. James Barker
Best season in his career for Thoroughbreds and his no nonsense approach has him ready for the game of his life. Will want to join his father “Bob” Barker in the illustrious father son premiership winning players.
11. Tim Watson
Good communicator with a good motor will be going all day and provides a real steel in his attack and defence.
12. James Eveleigh
Speedy, powerful and a footballer, will be a handful all day for the opposition in attack and defence. Another who can join the father son 1st grade premiers club.
13. Jacob Bailey
Very good defender who will be in the middle of the field chopping them down, also will be seen using his footwork with the ball. Just reward and will play like he has been there all year.
15. John Johnson
Has timed his season to perfection. The former captain- coach from the last premiership winning side in 2006 will provide plenty of worries for Muswellbrook and offer the X factor for Scone.
16. Isaac Austin
An outstanding year first year out of juniors. Has a strong carry and does the clean up work in defence. Will provide a real impact when injected.
17. Tom Hagan
Big game player who will be firing from the bench. Real team player and a leader for the side. Explosive performance expected and will do anything to win with the mates he grew up with.
18. James Carrascalao
Extremely powerful ball runner and great acquisition to the club. Can play anywhere from the wing to front row
