
MORE than 5000 votes had been counted in the Upper Hunter Shire Local Government Elections as of 3pm on Sunday.
Lee Watts was sitting on 1276, or 25.98 per cent, while deputy mayor Maurice Collison (707 or 14.39 per cent) and mayor Wayne Bedggood (551 or 11.22 per cent) had also faired well.
Ron Campbell (430 or 8.75 per cent) received a strong backing, as did newcomers Sue Abbott (366 or 7.45 per cent) and Joshua Brown (322 or 6.56 per cent).
There are also 205 informal votes.
