NATHAN Connor has built his reputation on making plenty of runs at the top of the order.
But, after being dismissed for just seven on Saturday, he still found a way to play a match-winning role – this time with the ball.
Connor snared the sensational figures of 7/7 from 4.2 overs as hosts Aberdeen 1 bowled out Bunnan for just 67 to claim a comfortable 96-run win.
His teammate Neville Givney (46) had earlier helped guide Aberdeen 1 to a competitive total as he shared an important second-wicket partnership with Edan Tickle (23).
Over in Murrurundi, Adam Williamson had a day to remember for visitors Belltrees, bagging 4/18 from his eight overs before belting an unbeaten 56.
Williamson’s haul restricted Murrurundi to 112, while his knock then allowed Belltrees to chase down the target for the loss of five wickets.
At Scone’s Bill Rose Sports Complex, Belmore Bulls 2 were unable to recover from a slow start with the bat against Rouchel, posting a total of just 96.
Left-armer Darren Crowther led Rouchel’s attack, ending with 3/11 from 7.1 overs.
Despite having little to defend, the Bulls’ bowlers came out firing, restricting Rouchel to 7/74 as Stewart Daniels (24) and Luke Gallagher (27) did their best to stop to rot.
A sensible partnership from Nate Atkinson (11 not out) and Andrew Clydsdale (8 not out) then snuffed out the Bulls’ hopes of victory, getting Rouchel home with just under 14 overs to spare.
