The centre is looking to use the funds to help it purchase a new building or relocate to a new venue.
A range of skills and donated goods went under the hammer at Scone RSL on Saturday night via local auctioneers Jim Callinan, Peter Sawyer and Sandy Warburton.
Items included a joy flight, guitar lessons, house cleaning, Apple iPad Air2, gym membership, Snowden racing jacket, and plenty more.
Scone Neighbourhood Centre manager Lee Watts thanked the crowd of over a hundred people for their support, while she also stressed the service’s importance to the local community.
“You may wonder how the Neighbourhood Centre got to a point where we are standing before you conducting an auction,” she said.
“The centre has never been a well-funded service.
“We receive an annual grant of $77,000 through Family and Community Services to support children and vulnerable families to identify issues and gaps in services and programs and create ways to assist, help or fix those area.
“Our service does not just assist the target group, we help and assist all of the community as well as visitors.
“Unless you are successful with grants, where the competition is high, it is hard to meet the day-to-day overheads just like any business.
“The service is working in a small area and cannot offer services such as room hire, which would generate income but would also encourage more services to Scone.
“It lacks confidentiality space - a must in our service.”
Some of the centre’s services’ for the community include Trainlink bookings, assisting with applications, organising Christmas in the Park, supporting events such as Seniors Week and Harmony Day, and providing a pantry for those less fortunate.
