So, this year the Society’s employees decided to give back.
“Traditionally we do a Secert Santa, but this time we decided rather than being a little bit self indulgent to do something to benefit others.
“And, the decision was pretty much unanimous to support the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre [SNRC] with their Christmas hampers.”
The SNRC and Upper Hunter Shire Council Youth Services have been collecting donated items from the community for the past couple of weeks to go towards gifts for individuals and families who are in need over the festive period.
SNRC’s Lee Watts said they are almost at the end of their hamper collection and the gifts would soon be distributed to those that need them most.
“We would like to thank everyone for their gift donations and support which will add a smile to many faces in our local community this Christmas,” she said.
“It’s a way of giving back – and it speaks much more to the true spirit of Christmas,” Mr Gatwood added.
