Locals enjoyed some healthy competition with about a dozen competitors from the district converging at the Parkville Tennis Courts for a doubles knockout and round robin tournament.
In a play-off lasting well over an hour, Brenan Reeves and Fiona Riley came out as winners with Hannah Hunt and Jordan Power walking away close runners-up.
Perfect weather complemented the fun and games off the court – with lots of activities for the kids and a special visit from Santa Claus himself.
The jolly man in red appeared on the back of a bright yellow buggy laced with presents and lolly bags, making it a day of fun and joy for the whole family.
Parkville Tennis and Social Club president Melissa Reeves said the day was a success and they were excited to keep the ball rolling for future events.
“This is the second year of running the competition and we are hoping to improve every year,” she said.
The club now turns their attention to the annual Christmas raffle that will be drawn on the December 23.
“We will also offer free court, racquet and ball hire again these school holidays,” Ms Reeves said.
“So if anyone would like to have a hit of tennis in the holidays they can during the day with a small cost to use the courts at night with the lights.”
