Scone Short Film Festival is an annual short film festival that brings a little bit of Sydney's Tropfest or Flickerfest to Scone.
It's unique to the area, bringing award-winning, world class Australian films, some of which have screened around the world, to the Upper Hunter.
Now in its 11th year, the popular festival only showcases Australian short films and is the longest established film festival in the Hunter.
Scone Films' Catherine Boulton said there is something for everyone, with a fantastic and unique range of short films from comedy, animation to drama, that will appeal to many age groups.
Films to be screened include the actors Urzila Carlson, David James, Brent Hill and Andy Lee. Urzila is a multi award winning stand up comedian, who appears regularly at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and on television in Have You Been Paying Attention and Spicks and Specks. Andy Lee is a comedian, musician and children's writer, best known for working alongside Hamish Blake as part of the comedy duo Hamish & Andy.
"As always, there will be some film guests at the Festival to represent their films," Catherine said.
"Filmgoers will be able to chat to producers, directors and cast about the making of the films.
"Budding film-makers and actors will be able to pick up some tips, as the guests are always very generous with their time and advice.
"It's also a really social evening with wine and supper before the films and coffee and dessert after."
The Saturday evening, September 21, is always very popular, so be sure to purchase tickets early.
Because of this, there is a casual encore screening on Sunday morning, September 22, as well.
Tickets are available from the website or Hunt a Book in Scone, and have started selling already.
