After selling their Driver Reviver van they were able to donate $3000 to the Lions Club of Scone on Friday to go towards local drought aid.
And thanks to a generous donation from a friend they picked up along the way, Scone and Aberdeen Lions clubs both received an additional $750 each.
"We sold our van to the Borowa Lions Club as they were looking for a van for their Driver Reviver Program," Morisset Lions president Bill Car explained.
"We could have chosen any area but we were told that this area was desperately in need and that Scone and Aberdeen clubs had direct contact with farming families in need.
"It's wonderful to come up here and help but it was frightening to look at the ground on the way out."
Morisset Lions treasurer Jim Bissaker said he hoped the donation would give local families a little bit of boost and show people living on the coast care.
"Maybe they can buy something for Christmas for the kids, maybe help pay a bill," he said.
Scone Lions president Maria Musumeci was extremely grateful for the donation and said 100 per cent of it will be distributed in the local area to rural families in the form of water, fuel, dog food and We LIVE Here gift cards.
"All our money goes to the local area, there are no administration costs," she said.
"We are extremely grateful for the donations we receive as due to the ongoing drought support is always needed."
