The Scone Rugby Union Club player has been selected for his skill in the game in the NSW Country team to represent the Central North region in a series of games next month.
From this series Jackson hopes to gain selection in the Australian Rugby Union Country Breakers team which tours the states in October.
The 24-year-old moved to Scone from his home of England two years ago to play rugby, however returned to England for six months before landing back in Scone in January.
Being a representative player in England, Jackson said when the opportunity arose to come over and play for Scone he decided to take it, however last year he could only play about five games due to an injury.
Since starting to play the sport about seven years ago, Jackson has become strong in his position as hooker, where he will play for the Brumbies first grade team this Saturday in their home game against Inverell at Brumby Park.
Jackson’s country selection came after he played in the Country Championships at Mudgee in recent months where the Central North team played two games, one 25 all draw with Newcastle and a loss to Illawarra.
He said personally, he was a bit surprised to be selected, but he was pleased as it was something he was aiming to achieve.
Other Scone players Tom Vincent and Tom Smart also represented Scone in the Central North Under 20s side at the Country Championships.
