It is hoped that those suffering from juvenile diabetes, cystic fibrosis, stroke and heart attacks can also benefit from the treatment.
Research has shown that cord blood is rich in haemopoietic stem cells.
These cells, once transplanted into a patient, can save them by producing all the different types of blood cells after a person’s own have been destroyed through chemotherapy or radiation.
Inner Wheel is one of the world’s largest women’s organisations, whose members support their local communities through a variety of service opportunities.
The group offers friendship to women of all ages while organising social and fundraising events locally, nationally, and internationally.
