SCONE Grammar School principal Paul Smart praised students, parents and staff members for their efforts throughout 2016, at their annual Years 3 to 12 speech day and presentation of awards.
Mr Smart thanked the school community for working together and looking out for each other through good times and difficulties.
"We seek to see every student thrive at SGS, and beyond school," he said.
The principal said the school's motto for this year was "give your life a twist", and asked people to consider a twist in their 2016 to share with those around them.
As well speeches and the presentation of awards, there were also performances by some of the students.
The senior choir performed a medley from Sister Act, along with musical support from students and teachers.
The primary public speaking senior winner Prunella Hayes presented her speech on women’s rights.
And, junior winner Sofia Edlington humorously shared how much she loved everything around her to be clean and tidy.
The 2016 school captains Jasper Heaton and Natalya Catzikiris gave their final address in the lead role, before introducing 2017 captains Fintan Conway and Maddison Cook.
