IT was billed as a big clash in the Central North Rugby Union competition – third versus fourth.
And, that’s what the spectators witnessed at Brumby Park on Saturday as the Scone Brumbies tackled Moree in front of a huge home crowd.
The round 11 encounter proved to be a fiery affair, too, with tempers fraying just before the break.
However, the interval gave the respective teams a chance to “cool down”.
After a couple of lean seasons, the Scone outfit has enjoyed great success in 2017 and appears semi-final bound.
The Tamworth Pirates head the ladder, with Walcha, Moree and the Brumbies rounding out the top four.
