The 11-year-old brought home gold at the Junior State Gymnastics Championships which ran from October 21 to 22 at Sydney Gymnastics Centre.
The gold banding was the result of her overall scores in Women’s Level 3 at the two-day event.
Scone Gymnastic Club’s Nicky Western said it was a first for the club.
“Riana is the only person to attend a state competition from Scone Gymnastics Club and we are very proud of her achievments,” she said.
“In the lead up to the event we trained twice a week – putting in hours of hard work to perfect the routine.
“She did really well and qualifed through successful performances at a regional level.”
Over 500 participants competed in the Junior State Championships which is one of the most significant events on young gymnasts calanders – often acting as a stepping stone for high-performing atheltes to compete at a national level.
