Located at an altitude of 1,350 metres in the Barrington Tops, the conservation sanctuary provides the perfect breeding environment for Tasmanian devils.
But, as the five-day heatwave starts to grip NSW, even the cool mountain climate isn’t safe from the sun.
The Tassie devils have opted for something a bit different this week – a nice, cool mud bath.
One devil in particular, Malloy, was captured in the moment.
Devil Ark’s Stacey Roberts said they were lucky enough to film the very cute occasion.
“Generally for hot days we ensure we have some ice blocks made up to give the devils,” she said.
“We have sprinklers in every enclosure that will be turned on.
“They will also sometimes be found sitting in their drinking water tubs.”
