And, if you’re interested in finding out more, you may want to attend one of the free upcoming workshops hosted by Upper Hunter Shire Council at the Scone Library in the coming months.
A recent “composting and worm farming” workshop attracted a lot of local interest, providing tips on how to reduce food waste and create a vibrant garden.
Now, two upcoming workshops, “Living off the grid” and “No-dig gardening” aim to share sustainable solutions.
Council’s Sustainability and Environment Manager Melinda Hale said the regular free workshops were based on topics central to council’s draft Sustainability Action Plan
“We encourage you to bring your children to learn these skills, but they must be accompanied,” Ms Hale said.
Workshops include:
Living off the Grid – Upper Hunter Style – 11am to 2pm Saturday July 28 2018
Come along to Scone Library and hear Trevor and Marion Woolley share their experiences with life ‘off the grid’ in a modern society. Wendy Wales will also be demonstrating her solar oven if the weather permits.
