Mexico has seen a slightly higher death rate from coronavirus than the global average so far due to the widespread presence of pre-existing medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity, experts said on Saturday.
Globally, more than 4.5 million people have been infected and more than 308,000 have died from COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University. About 1.6 million people have recovered.
