Brown and his fellow 22 teammates from all NSW primary schools will play in the National Interstate Rugby Union Championships in Adelaide next month.
The 12-year-old Scone boy was selected for his talents as an open-side flanker player (No. 7) at the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association State Championships at Kiama last month.
The NSW team performed well at the championships finishing up fifth overall out of 15 teams.
Brown said it was an honour to be selected in this team as he was the only country boy with all the rest of the players coming from private Sydney schools.
The Scone Grammar School year 6 student has been playing rugby for Scone Junior Rugby Union Club for the past four years and has been playing in school competitions since last year when rugby union took off at Scone Grammar under the guidance of teacher Damien Saunders.
Brown represented the school last year as captain of the team and again this year, competing at the TAS Rugby Union Carnival against teams from across NSW and Queensland.
The school team also placed third in the state in the Primary Sevens competition this year.
Tipped as a player to watch, Brown has represented the Central North Under 12s representative team for the past two years, being the captain this year and awarded Most Consistent Player.
Brown said he loves the game of rugby because he understands it and the game plan comes easily to him.
