The 27 holes must have felt like a very long game of golf for all, and no doubt the fire in the clubhouse was a welcome retreat at the conclusion.
The scratch winners were Jo Brown and Julie Leckie who teamed up for the first time together to have 147.
The runners up were Cheryl Clydsdale and Pam Manning on 158.
Jo and Julie managed to do the double and win the nett event for the Trish Dunnill and Diane Taylor Trophy. Well done!
Their score of 120 was five and ¼ shots ahead of runners up Doon MacCallum and Kathy Robinson.
Balls went to Noreen Marshall and Narelle Rutter, Judy Carmody and Ruth Wallace, and Trish Dunnill and Marie Murray.
Judy and Ruth took out the NTP whilst Sheena Carter managed a chip in during the round.
Today the Scone ladies will play an 18 Hole Stableford 4BBB Multiplier for the Elizabeth Kevans and Steph McGuirk Trophy.
Next Thursday, August 6, the Monthly Medal will be played for the Melanies Jewellers Trophy.
It is the sixth Monthly Medal, GNSW Medal and putting round.
Last Saturday, the men played an 18 Hole Stableford for the G and E Wilkinson Plumbing Services Trophy.
A good field of golfers turned out on a pleasant day for golf.
Visitor Simon Wilkinson enjoyed his round with a very good 40 points to be the overall winner.
A Grade was won by Joel Woods and B Grade by Brad Hockley both on 37 points.
C Grade went to Tony Bowd on 35 points.
The NTPs were won by Paul Smart 1.14 metres on the 2nd/11th, and by Geoff Ferguson 7.9 metres on the 8th/17th.
The ball winners were Simon Wilkinson 40, Joel Woods and Brad Hockley 37, Mick Alsleben and Tony O’Neill 36, Tony Bowd 35, Simon Groom and Col Solway 34, Noel Leckie and Jeff Harrington 33, Charlie Manning, Steve Morse and Clayton Rogers all on 32.
This Saturday the Monthly Mug will be played as an 18 Hole Stroke/Stableford.
Next Saturday, August 8 the event is an 18 Hole 2B and Individual Par for the Sean Constable and Grant Taylor Trophy.
The Holden Scramble is fast approaching on Sunday, August 16.
Four players, either men or ladies or combined, are required in each team to enter the members’ only Ambrose event.
There are handicap conditions so check the details before entering on the timesheet at the club.
A reminder to those players still competing in the Kevans or Snyman knockout events, to play by the due dates in order to keep the events on schedule.
