Now, legendary retired professional bull rider Adriano Moraes is bringing his clinic to Scone to pass on his knowledge to some eager young cowboys and girls, as well as experienced riders.
The first leg of his bull riding clinic at White Park will be held on January 26 and 27.
The second clinics are being held on February 2 and 3.
With word of such a high calibre visitor spreading quickly, positions filled fast for students, however bookings are still being taken for anybody that wants to come along, watch and learn from the best.
Scone Charity Rodeo president Jade Smith said the opportunity is a first for Scone.
“We’ve never had anything like this guy,” he said.
“This guy is practically God in his country in Brazil.
“It’s a bit like if we were having a tennis clinic here and we got Roger Federer to come.
“Or Sachin Tendulkar to do a cricket clinic or something like that.
“He’s massive, he’s broken a lot of records throughout the PBR world standings and is known as one of the greatest bull riders of all time.”
Scone was chosen to host the clinics due to its central location to a lot of areas.
“It’s central for any Queenslanders coming down or any Southerners coming up,” Jade Smith explained.
Another factor was the new all-weather arena at White Park, with its suitable surface and setup to host the clinic.
The new arena is nearing completion, but won’t be 100 per cent finished until around March, just in time for the Scone Charity Rodeo in May.
The main organiser of the clinics is Singleton’s Matthew Hancock.
“He’s the one that has the contact there and is doing the hard work, we’re just helping them on our end with the facility and set up and touching base with local sponsors,” Jade Smith said.
“It’s obviously great for the town. We’re hoping to have the official opening in May during the Scone Horse Festival and this is probably going to be the first major event held in there.”
Price for an adult to attend the clinic is $100, $80 for a pensioner and $100 for a family.
Contact Matthew Hancock on 0474 187 393 for bookings.
