The 34-year-old took 5 for 21 and was key in keeping the visitors to just 85.

In other matches, Merriwa remained undefeated after seeing off bottom-placed Souths by 84 runs.

The score could have been closer, although Souths were only able to field nine players and all bar one of their batsman failed to make double figures.

Steve Unicomb withstood the ladder leaders impressive bowling, led by Charlie Stokes and Greg Sheehan, to make 33 before being caught out.

That was actually the match's joint highest score along with John Maben, although he had a little more support as Merriwa made their way to 149 from just more than 32 overs.

Souths' captain Joseph Chandler continued his good individual form, this time taking three wickets from 8 overs, which included two maidens.

Murrurundi hunted down the Silver Slugs, who have been better in recent weeks, taking 33 overs and losing six wickets in their pursuit of the visitors' 167.

Slugs' captain, Jarrod Watts, made a half-century with the bat and pace bowler Campbell Schmierer took 3 wickets.

Rain played havoc on the fixture between Aberdeen and Bushrangers, with the captains coming to an agreement that the former deserved the points.

Bushrangers batted first and made a good total, putting 192 on the board as Broque Smith secured another milestone, fighting his way to 66.

They were bowled out with 1.3 overs to go, although things were not so simple in Aberdeen's innings.

With 7 overs left it was decided the game could not go on, and after examining the scores, both skippers decided it was only fair the chasers be awarded the win given they required just 10 runs with 6 wickets in hand.

It was a good show of sportsmanship, and likely a relief to Nathan Connor and Jeremy Smith, who would be happy their totals of 63 and 58 weren't for nothing.

The result was an important one as it saw Aberdeen move six points clear of their opponents and level with fourth-placed Belmore Bulls, who are ahead of them on percentage.

The Bulls had their own troubles this weekend, being held to a draw due to the rain despite being set a total of just 64 to chase by Brook Blue.
